WEBSITE PROJECT CHECKLIST

Prepare a website brief your team can use.

A useful website project starts with the customer’s next action. Gather the information below before design begins so the pages, quote and launch checks have a clear purpose.

1. Choose the primary customer action

Write one sentence: “A visitor should understand our service and then request a quote.” Adapt it to the action your business can handle, such as a booking or project enquiry.

Name the person who receives that request and how they will respond. A contact button is only one step in the full customer journey.

2. Give each page a job

A starting page list might be Home, Services, About, Work and Contact. Choose pages around customer questions rather than treating this example as a required structure.

  • Home: explain the business, audience and next step.
  • Services: clarify the offer, scope and common questions.
  • About or Work: use approved evidence to build trust.
  • Contact: explain what to send and what happens next.

Execelo’s starting website package covers up to five pages. Agree how legal pages, extra service pages, booking features and integrations fit the written scope before work starts.

3. Prepare facts and approved assets

  • Your service descriptions, coverage, business contact details and operating expectations.
  • Logo files and images you have permission to use.
  • Approved project descriptions or testimonials with accurate attribution.
  • A decision-maker who can collect feedback into two agreed review rounds.

Copywriting needs factual inputs. If a result cannot be verified, explain what was delivered rather than inventing a percentage improvement.

For a rebuild, list existing URLs and pages that customers still use. Discuss which need preserving or redirecting before changing the structure.

4. Test the whole enquiry journey

On Execelo’s own website, the contact form can prepare an email for the visitor to review and send. When direct delivery is configured, it can send the enquiry instead. These two states need different confirmations.

  1. Enter a realistic test enquiry using a contact address you control.
  2. Check validation and confirm that a failed attempt keeps the entered details.
  3. If an email draft is prepared, send it from the email app and check the receiving inbox.
  4. If direct delivery is enabled, confirm receipt and test that replying reaches the test visitor.
  5. Check the same journey on a narrow screen and with keyboard navigation.

Count a prepared draft separately from a received enquiry. The distinction helps you see whether the site generated a conversation or only started one.

5. Agree the launch and handover

  • Who controls the domain, hosting and relevant accounts?
  • Which recurring costs are additional to the build?
  • What qualifies as a defect fix, a content update or new scope?
  • Who reviews enquiries after launch?
  • What business measure will you review after the first month?

Execelo websites start at US$1,000, typically taking 2–3 weeks once information and access are ready. The package includes 30 days of defect fixes. Optional care is US$50/month within its stated allowance. See the full website scope and care details.
